On multiple occasions Gemma was rushed to the hospital. Finally, doctors told her that if she didn’t change her habits and seek treatment, she would only have another 48 hours to live. She spent her days either starving herself or binge eating, taking in 6,500 calories in just 20 minutes. She ate until she began to hallucinate or even pass out.
